Bumper education state budget for Keysborough electorate

Communities in Springvale, Noble Park, Keysborough and the emerging suburb of Keysborough South will enjoy a bumper education investment from the Andrews Labor Government’s 2016-17 State Budget.

Member for Keysborough, Martin Pakula, today announced a whopping $13 million to complete upgrades to Keysborough College and Chandler Park Primary School, along with funding for land acquisition for a new primary school in Keysborough South.

The Andrews Labor Government has listened carefully to the needs of the growing community of Keysborough South, setting aside funding in the 2016-17 Budget to buy land for a new primary school. Population projections support the need for a local primary school in this booming area.

$13 million to complete Keysborough College and Chandler Park PS Upgrades

Martin Pakula MP today announced $10 million from the 2016-17 Victorian Budget to complete upgrades to Keysborough College’s ageing facilities, ensuring students have the modern spaces they need to learn. The funding will go towards refurbishment and new facilities for food technology, creative arts, visual arts, music, drama, physical education, canteen and toilets, across both Acacia and Banksia campuses.

Mr Pakula also announced $3 million for upgrading Chandler Park Primary School, with funding for six new classrooms and a library facility.

New Bus Route for Keysborough South

Keysborough South residents will soon be able to hop on a bus connecting Noble Park and Mordialloc Train Stations, via Keylana Drive, Westwood Boulevard and Perry Road in Keysborough South and Bloomfield Road, Noble Park.

This new bus route will open up the local area to both the Frankston and Pakenham/Cranbourne lines, as well as connecting with the Route 902 Smart Bus and other bus services.

Extensive community consultation helped inform the route, with further details including service frequency and a commencement date to be announced in the coming weeks. The new service will be delivered as part of the Andrews Government’s $100 million Better Bus Networks program.
