BUDGET DELIVERS $300 MILLION FOR MORDIALLOC BYPASS
The Andrews Government has committed $300 million in this year’s 2017/18 Victorian Budget to build a 9 kilometre road between Springvale Road in Aspendale Gardens and the Dingley Bypass. This will slash congestion and improve safety.
Residents in Keysborough, Dingley Village and Waterways will see traffic congestion reduced and faster travel into the city, with construction to be completed by late 2021.
This new road will deliver a better alternative for drivers heading into the city, and remove traffic from major roads like Springvale Road and Centre Dandenong Road. This will help reduce travel times to the city to get you home sooner.
Geotechnical investigations began in late May to help inform the design of the bypass through the Mordialloc Creek wetlands.
Over the coming months VicRoads will be asking local residents, business owners and road users to comment and provide feedback on the concept design for the project online and at community information sessions.
