Corrigan Road Level Crossing

The Andrews Labor Government has announced the removal of three local level crossings and the purchase of 37 new, high-capacity trains for the Cranbourne-Pakenham Line.

We’re getting straight to work with the tender process already underway for the removal of the Corrigan Road, Heatherton Road and Chandler Road level crossings in Noble Park. These level crossings will all be gone within the next four years.

This once in a generation investment in better roads and better public transport is part of a multi-billion dollar package of works that will ease congestion, reduce travel times and improve public transport for everyone who lives and works in the Keysborough electorate.

A total of nine level crossings will be removed between Dandenong and Caulfield. This investment will boost capacity by up to 42 per cent on the Cranbourne-Pakenham line every day, accommodating an extra 11,000 passengers in the morning peak and boosting capacity across the network.

The new trains will be at least 50 per cent locally made, supporting Victorian jobs. This will have huge benefits for our local community.
